How do you break up with someone you love?

I have to break up with my boyfriend. We are seriously attached and emotionally dependent on each other. The problem being is that we are together out of circumstance, and more so, we have completely different views on life and on the future. The longer we stay together the more it is going to hurt when our differences start tearing us apart. i cant waste years of my life just to find out something i already know, so i have to do it. but i cant. this is the closest of calls...but something has to give. he wants a stable life and a family and i want to keep living the way i do. please help...i wont be able to say the words once i look at him.How do you break up with someone you love?
