Me and my girlfriend have been dating for over two years, and we're also living together. We've been growing apart over the last few months. I know I don't want us to carry on as a couple any more and just to be friends, and I think she's starting to feel the same way, she's saying things like ';you'd be better off with someone more like you';, and I think she's right. I think she still loves me though and I'm worried of breaking her heart but I don't know how to do this.
I was going to talk to her and say something like ';I know we've been growing apart recently, and I think it's because we're feeling less for each other. I do really like you and want to keep you as a friend, but I think we should think about breaking up as a couple';. Best way to break up with someone?
Thinking and doing are two different things. Most times we (women/girls) want to throw rocks at you guys because of vague statements like the ones you just mentioned.
Just tell her it is over, and that you dont want to be with her anymore.
And, don't mention that ';just be friends'; bs - if you honestly plan to be her friend, then just be it; don't avoid her after the breakup, it's a waste of breath and disingenious to say that.
Hope this helps
